Tomorrow I’ll close out the year with a countdown of the top twenty most popular posts of the year, but first, let’s take a peek back through the year and look at my top twelve favorite projects. I chose one project, craft, or recipe from each month that I really loved. These aren’t the posts that made it in the top twenty but they’re projects that I really enjoyed creating and think they deserve a second glance {wink}! Ready?
I love the bright yellow painted lockers that I use for storage in my laundry room. They were used for storage in my son’s room in my old house but got a colorful makeover and they’re so useful and fun in this house!
I participated in a challenge to repurpose a cereal box and I created a working upcycled cereal box cuckoo clock. It’s bright and whimsical and totally me!
Knitting is one of my very favorite hobbies and I love the texture and color that knits can add to a home. The knit ottoman cover that sits on my painted vintage bench is definitely a favorite project!
Llamas are all the rage everywhere but they’re definitely all the rage among my girls, especially the younger two. I used my Cricut machine, patterned iron on, and some lyrics from a famous Grease tune to create llama shirts that my girls love.
Even the pets should be celebrated and this birthday party for dogs is a great starting point. With just a few simple projects that have great impact, this party isn’t too over the top but it’ll definitely be memorable.
I’m not a pro gardener by any stretch of the imagination but I do love to plant a few things, especially herbs, every spring and use them throughout the summer and fall. Last year, I planted a beverage or cocktail garden filled with herbs that are perfect for mixing into drinks to add just the right combination of flavors.
I had a really hard time choosing a favorite project from July because I loved all the upcycled projects I made that month – the book cover valance, the vintage wallpaper sign, and the cabinet door pantry sign – but I think I loved the giant chalkboard wall most of all. This wall in our study has become a fun place to leave messages, add a few doodles, and draw some holiday decor.
I love a good party and this year I shared a few that I loved. The red and white toadstool party was so cute and I loved the upcycled toadstool centerpiece.
I also loved the drive in movie party we threw in the back of a Ford F-150 … definitely the best way to watch a movie outdoors.
I tried my hand at making bath bombs with pumpkin fizzing bath bombs for Halloween and more of those are definitely on the project list for the new year. My girls and their friends loved them and have been making lots of requests for different scents and shapes!
Coffee is my love language and I shared some of the best coffee spots in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. I’ll be updating this list as I try new places so check back often if you’re in the area.
And finally, my youngest daughter got some fun mermaid sequin wall art in her room this year. Mermaid sequins are trending big among the girls this year {I even have a mermaid sequin cactus pillow in my family room!} and wall art is even more fun because it provides a big space to create, write in the sequins, and make designs.
It was a creative year and I can’t wait for more! What were your favorite Dukes and Duchesses projects this year?

You had so many cute projects this year! I really like the cereal box cuckoo clock and the doggie birthday party.
