A couple of weeks ago, rather than trekking my kids around in the minivan, I had the chance to drive a 2018 Ford Mustang GT for a week! It was so out of my norm and so fun … and even better because my bestie was in town AND I was celebrating my birthday. We did some shopping, watched a LOT of soccer games, and did what we love to do: we hit up some of the best coffee spots in Dallas Fort Worth. If you love sipping a latte in a fun little coffee shop, check out my list of favorites … and share yours so I can check them out too!
The iconic Mustang is the perfect girls-about-town kind of car. I’m quite certain my neighbors thought I was having a mid-life crisis when they saw me pulling in and out of my driveway in that sleek black sports car {wink} but it was a fun change. While it definitely doesn’t fit my five kiddos, the three younger kids loved it. I was actually surprised by how much room they had in the back seat.
The look of the Ford Mustang GT is hard to beat. With its sleek but muscular style and profile, signature lighting {when you unlock the doors on the car, a Mustang symbol lights up on the ground on either side of the car!}, and leather seats, we were really riding in style. And it was kind of fun to twin with my oldest son when he was home with his own Mustang!
I think I earned a little street cred with this baby {wink}. The Mustang is fun to drive anywhere, even through the slow carpool line, but it’s especially fun out on the open road and on the freeway maze of Dallas. It has so much power and handles so smoothly.
And while the Mustang is a whole lot cooler than the minivan, it’s still full of features that make it perfect for the mom crowd: the push button start, multiple cup holders {because coffee}, and a rearview camera all make it not only fun but practical too.
Whether we were cruising from one end of the metroplex to the other or just wandering around town, the Mustang was the perfect ride … and the perfect way to cruise for coffee!
Ready to try my favorite coffee shops?
Best Coffee Spots in Dallas Fort Worth
These are some of my favorite places to grab coffee and hang out in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. They aren’t listed in any particular order so be sure to hit them all up … and let me know which ones you love!
Novel Coffee Roasters {Flower Mound}
Formerly called Trio, Novel is one of my favorite places to hang out and work. It’s light and roomy, I love the people that work and hang out there, and the bourbon maple latte is unbeatable … perfect for fall but delicious year-round, hot or iced. They also serve a gluten-free pumpkin loaf that’s amazing.
Liberation Coffee Co. {Coppell}
I first tried Liberation when they had a food truck at a local Christmas event and was pretty happy to find out they have a location about five minutes from my house. The coffee is locally roasted, there are more outlets than you can possibly imagine for plugging in your laptop and other devices {a favorite feature of mine when I’m working at a coffee shop}, and nothing is more refreshing than the mint iced coffee.
Re:defined Coffee House {Grapevine}
I loved the upcycled, moody style of Re:defined’s old location but the new location is equally great and still has the homey feel. And the coffee and feeling of community is as good as always.
George Coffee + Provisions {Coppell}
I love everything about George, from the warm farmhouse feel to the comfy old couch to the delicious coffee to the adorable setting in the heart of the cutest community in Coppell. The library is the ideal spot for a meeting and there’s even a little outdoor courtyard and chairs on the porch if the Texas weather is tolerable.
The Perc Coffeehouse {Lewisville}
Main Street in Lewisville has really ramped up over the last year or so and the area continues to get better and better. The Perc is just one of the spots you have to hit up if you venture over this way. Grab a latte, enjoy the vintage decor, then wander through some of the other shops on the strip. You can even catch an outdoor concert during the summer months.
West Oak Coffee Bar {Denton}
I never drive to Denton without stopping in for coffee at West Oak. Located right on the square surrounding the courthouse in Denton, this coffee shop embraces the culture of the area and provides the perfect place to relax. The seasonal specials are always a favorite!
Summer Moon Coffee {Frisco}
Two words: moon milk. This ingredient is the key to Summer Moon’s menu and it’s delicious. Rumor has it, the magic milk contains seven secret ingredients and while I have no idea what they are {beyond a few wild guesses}, the blend is perfect. You can order the hot summer moon version or the cold winter moon version and order the drinks in different strengths as well {half moon is my preference}.
Edison Coffee Co. {Flower Mound}
Edison is a landmark in my neck of the woods, both for the coffee and the community. They offer seasonal drinks {the tonics are always a favorite of mine} and lots of tables to work or visit with friends. One of my favorite features? The ceiling is covered in hanging Edison light bulbs.
Farmhouse Coffee & Treasures {Argyle}
I just recently discovered this gem located in Argyle. Located in a farmhouse that’s filled with treasures you can purchase, cozy chairs to curl up in, and warm fireplaces, this sweet spot is a delight. And so is the brown sugar latte they serve from the espresso bar!
Kimzey’s Coffee {Argyle}
If you love whimsical, Kimzey’s is your place. Located in the cutest cottage you’ve ever seen, it looks like fairies and trolls could wander through the doors at any moment. It’s the perfect escape for a relaxing afternoon of work or play.
Kindred Coffee Co. {North Richland Hills}
What can I say? You never forget your first glitter latte {wink}. I love the coffee at Kindred but I’m also super partial to the fabulous chalkboard art and the fact that they have knitting and crochet groups. Does it get any more perfect than that? All my favorites rolled up in one location!
I’ve probably never met a coffee shop that I didn’t like at least a little bit but these are some that top my list in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. Be sure to share your favorites so I can check them out too!
