20 Upcycled Fall Wreath Ideas

The thing I love about wreaths is that you can transform almost any item into a wreath, whether you use that item as the body of the wreath or add it as part of the decoration.  All it takes is a little creativity, a trip to the thrift store, and a glue gun to come up with repurposed fall door decor.  I gathered up some fun upcycled fall wreath ideas to inspire and help you think outside the box this season.  Click on the links below to take you to the full tutorial for each project … and be sure to tell me what you’re upcycling in your own home this fall!

20 upcycled fall wreath ideas

Add a few burlap pumpkins and leaves and turn a vintage mold into a pretty repurposed copper mold wreath.

Gather fallen acorns to create a DIY acorn wreath.  Dye the acorns or paint them for another fun look.

Or, pick up pinecones instead and make an upcycled pinecone wreath.  I love the use of metallic paint and twigs in this wreath!  {Love this look? Check out more repurposed pinecone ideas.}

Don’t throw out that old flannel shirt with the holes in the elbows!  Transform it into a flannel shirt wreath instead.  I love the flannel rosettes on this wreath!

Not all door decor has to be a traditional wreath.  This upcycled leather quiver and arrow door decor is definitely a fun step outside the box!

Instead of tossing those soda cans in the recycler this week, turn them into an upcycled aluminum can wreath instead.  This wreath uses cans cut into flower shapes …

… while this gorgeous aluminum can leaf wreath has more traditional shapes and colors for fall.  Can you believe all those leaves are made from aluminum?

I always feel terrible throwing out all the packing paper that comes in boxes and next time I may try this: a fall wreath made with packing paper!  It’s such a clever way to reuse and recycle.

Similarly, this paper bag fall wreath is the perfect way to reuse grocery store bags or even brown paper lunch bags that are still clean but wrinkled. {Still have lots of leftover bags?  Check out these clever ways to repurpose paper bags!}

Thrift stores are full of old sweaters that have seen better days and this repurposed sweater wreath idea is the perfect way to use an old piece of clothing.  {If you want more ideas for salvaging sweaters, take a peek at these other ways to repurpose old sweaters.}

If you’ve got old craft supplies still lying around from the cross-stitch days, update them into an embroidery hoop wreath!

This harvest wreath is embellished with plaid ribbon made from an upcycled shirt.  Can you believe that’s not storebought wired ribbon?

If your bike has seen better days, take it apart and turn parts of it into an upcycled bicycle wheel wreath!  {Check out these other ways to upcycle a bicycle wheel!}

It’s officially PSL season and this wreath is the best tribute!  Save one of your cups to create a pumpkin spice latte wreath for the door.  This idea is warming my coffee-loving heart!

If you’ve got spools of ribbon in the craft stash, or even just pieces, make a tied ribbon wreath!  The textures, patterns, and addition of buttons make this so cute.

Repurposed bundt pans are my favorite and what better way to celebrate fall and apple season than with a bundt pan apple wreath?  This would also be so cute in a classroom!

I’m always smitten with reclaimed wood projects and this reclaimed wood wreath is no exception.  The wood is so fantastic that it really needs almost no embellishment.

Hit up the thrift store for the unexpected and make a thrift store basket wreath.  This one also uses a silver-ish platter painted with chalkboard paint.

The smell of cinnamon has been wafting through craft stores for a few weeks now and I honestly have never known what anyone uses those cinnamon brooms for … until now!  This rustic cinnamon broom wreath is beautiful and would add a warm scent to your home.

If you’ve got a fabric stash like mine, you’re constantly wondering what to do with it.  This upcycled fabric wreath is a fun way to use up the scraps … and the more combinations, the better.  The mouse is a fun, whimsical touch!
