It seems a bit strange to think about fall when the temperatures are still very much a reminder of summer but when this idea struck I couldn’t resist a bit of quick fall crafting. You know how much I love repurposing items into something new and this repurposed bundt pan apple wreath is so simple and so cute! Whip one up for your front door or surprise the kids’ teachers with them on the first day of school!
To get started, you’ll need a metal bundt pan. If you haven’t got one already, you can find stacks of them at the thrift store and they usually sell for just a dollar or two. I had already painted this bundt pan red and used it as a wreath at Christmas but you’ll need to paint yours. Simply spray a couple of coats of red paint onto the pan and allow it to dry completely.
The only other supplies you’ll need are a twig {I just grabbed one from my yard} and green paper to use as leaves.
Cut two large leaves from patterned or plain green paper and hot glue them point to point on top of the bundt pan. I gave each leaf a little fold to make them pop up a bit more.
Use a saw to cut a straight edge on one end of the twig and hot glue it onto the top of the bundt pan over the place where the leaves meet.
You could add a little “happy fall” tag or leave the wreath as is. I usually lean toward the simple side and hung my wreath on the door without any further embellishments.
Sometimes the simplest projects are the ones I love the most and this apple wreath is on that list. The bright red color looks so great against my green front door and I’m already just a little more excited about fall.
Where would you hang a bundt pan apple wreath?
