I’ve baked piles and piles of homemade dog biscuits for my pups over the years but I decided to make a different dog treat this time around. This easy banana dog donuts treat recipe has just a few ingredients {some that you likely already have around the house, especially if you have a baby}, and it’s quick and simple to whip up. I can’t attest to the taste but if my dog’s constant begging is any indication, they’re absolutely delicious {wink}!
To make this easy dog donuts treat recipe, you’ll need 2 cups whole wheat flour, 2 small containers of banana flavored pureed baby food, 2 whole eggs, and 1/4 cup water.
{As with any recipe for your pet, check with your vet before introducing any food into your pet’s diet.}
In a mixing bowl or with an electric mixer, combine the whole wheat flour, baby food, and eggs.
Mix well then slowly add in the water and mix until fully combined. The dough will be fairly thick, not runny and if you have a hard time stirring it or mixing it with a mixer, you can use your hands to squeeze the dough together.
Spray the donut molds with cooking spray or use these non-stick silicon donut molds and pack the dough mixture into each cavity. The dough won’t rise so you can fill the cavities right to the top.
Press the dough down, as needed, then place the silicon pans on a baking sheet for added stability.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until the donuts are fully baked.
Remove the donuts from the molds, let them cool completely, then let your pup sample these fun homemade treats! Molly thought they were pretty fabulous and would have gladly eaten the entire batch if I had let her!
Store leftovers in an airtight bag or container in the refrigerator but be sure to let them cool fully first so there’s not a build up of moisture.
These fun treats are the perfect way to spoil your pup, celebrate a dog birthday or gotcha day, or brighten up the neighbor dog’s day!

What a nice treat for your dog! I bet mine would love these. I’ll have to give them a try and see what he thinks.

Why don’t you use fresh banana?
Can you add the recipe in card form please?
Randi Dukes says
You could definitely use fresh banana.
Luan Harvey says
This sounds like a great thing to do with ripe bananas. Would you know how many oz to substitute for the baby food?
Randi Dukes says
Great idea! I think the baby food jars are about 4 ounces.

How long will these last in the fridge? Can they be frozen?
Randi Dukes says
They’ll last for about 5-7 days in the fridge. I haven’t frozen them but I can’t see any reason why they couldn’t be frozen!
