10 Ways to Repurpose Pinecones

The fall and winter seasons are the perfect time to scavenge for pinecones and acorns and decorate your home with natural elements.  Pinecones, in particular, look amazing when they’re grouped together in a bowl, strung as a garland, or used in any type of upcycled craft.  I found some really great ways to repurpose pinecones and they’ll inspire you to head to the nearest evergreen tree to gather up all the cones you can find!  If you can’t find any pinecones out in nature, don’t worry … local craft stores often sell bags of them in the floral department.  Check out all these great ideas and tell me your favorites … and if you’ve made any fun pinecone crafts or projects, share a photo with us on the Dukes and Duchesses facebook page!

These painted zinnia pinecones might be the most gorgeous upcycled pinecone idea I’ve ever seen.  I think it’s just completely genius!

If you need a fun winter gift idea, pinecone firestarters are perfect.  They’d be great for anyone that has a wood burning fireplace or for a family that loves to camp.

Pinecones are so pretty that they don’t even have to be altered.  This natural pinecone centerpiece is a compilation of natural elements along with a few shiny goodies and it’s gorgeous.

As a yarn lover and someone with a pretty large yarn stash, these yarn wrapped pinecones have me all heart eyes.  The idea is so simple but looks beautiful and it’s a great way to add color to your decor.

Succulents are all the rage and this colorful faux succulent wreath is a fun way to get the look of succulents without the expense!

Pinecone embellished mason jars are the perfect idea for holding candles, creating a centerpiece, or even gifting a cookie or baking mix to a neighbor.

A simple pinecone garland adds the perfect touch of nature, either indoors or out.

I love walking through the craft store with the smell of cinnamon pinecones wafting through the air.  Did you know you can make your own homemade cinnamon scented pinecones with essential oils?

Similar to the succulent wreath and the pinecone zinnias, this pinecone flower wreath uses cut pinecones but leaves them in their natural state.  The neutral look is beautiful and just right for fall.

Take apart all those pinecones {a great job for the kiddos!} and turn the pieces into pinecone topiaries.

Or simply add some ribbon or burlap to create a pinecone swag door decoration.
