Oriental Trading provided the party supplies for this Galentine’s Day hot cocoa bar post but all thoughts and ideas are my own. This post contains affiliate links.
Did you see the Galentine’s Day gift idea I shared last week? If you’re celebrating your gal pals this year, I made some fun embellished candles and gift tags that can be copied {I shared the file to use} for quick and easy gifts. If you’re going all out this year, how about a Galentine’s Day hot cocoa bar? Setting up a hot cocoa bar is simple, fun, and a great way to celebrate with friends. I’ve even included links to all the items at the bottom of this post for one-stop Valentine’s Day shopping!
I’m a huge fan of a hot cocoa bar, probably because it’s so quick and affordable to throw together. For more inspiration, check out my Valentine’s Day hot cocoa party featuring pink hot cocoa and a chocolate toffee themed hot cocoa bar that has a rustic flair.
If you’re hosting those over the age of twenty one, you may want to set up an adults only hot cocoa bar with a few different flavors of liqueur for spiking the cocoa!
However you choose to celebrate, grab all the pink and red and get creative!
I used a portable bar cart {one of my favorite accessories for entertaining because it easily folds up to make storage simple} and added a few party supplies from Oriental Trading. I also gathered a few things from around the house. Almost anything pink or red can be repurposed into Valentine’s Day decor.
A letterboard is one of my favorite ways to create a backdrop. I couldn’t resist adding a little Galentine’s Day fun to it with this BAE {before all else} MINE message. I strung a felt ball pom pom garland over it to add a little color.
I also added a couple of glitter heart garlands to the wall behind the bar cart.
I love my thrifted gumball machine and often fill it with items for different occasions. They don’t have to be edible! Small foam hearts in pink and white look super cute!
I set a jar full of plastic spoons on top of red and gold scalloped paper plates …
… and set out metallic red paper cups and these adorable red heart-shaped mugs. Aren’t they cute? I love them for any time of the year but they’re absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day!
I added simple red foil cupcake toppers to cupcakes and set them on a cake stand along with a red heart marquee light {it actually lights up!}.
Storebought treats are the key to easy entertaining … because let’s face it, unless you’re a famous baker, no one cares if the cupcakes are homemade {wink}.
When I’m setting up a hot cocoa bar, I like to find cute things to stir the hot chocolate with. Homemade candy spoons, chocolate heart lollipops …
… and rock candy lollipops are perfect. Plus, the chocolate adds an extra hint of richness to the cocoa!
Add a bowl of mini marshmallows, thread some pink and white marshmallows onto white heart skewers, and you’re set.
For a little extra touch, you can send your best girls home with party favors.
Fill cute heart pillow gift boxes with a variety of candy …
… or pop a sweet-smelling votive candle in a little gold heart favor box.
A Galentine’s Day hot cocoa bar is the perfect way to entertain your besties this Valentine’s Day. Guests can grab a cup of cocoa and a cupcake and enjoy the day with their best gal pals!
