The winter months are the perfect time to set up a simple hot cocoa bar and I thought it might be fun to go pink and surprise the kids with a Valentine’s Day hot cocoa bar with pink hot cocoa!

I love creating hot cocoa bars.  Whether you’re celebrating your best gal pals on Galentine’s Day or hosting a few friends for an adults-only hot cocoa bar, it’s an easy way to entertain!

Start with a cute backdrop.  I used my cross-stitch wood heart sign but you can hang a tablecloth or some scrapbook paper, or string a banner across the wall.

Set out bowls of fluffy whipped cream {buy storebought or whip your own with heavy cream and a touch of sugar if you like it sweet}, heart shaped marshmallows {affiliate link}, and red hots or Valentine’s Day sprinkles.

To add a fun touch to the cups, use clean kitchen shears to slice the center of a marshmallow …

… and place it on the rim of the cup.  It’s the simple touches, right?

Serve the kids cups of pink hot cocoa {simply stir 8 cups of milk, 11-12 ounces of white chocolate chips, and one teaspoon vanilla extract in a saucepan until heated through, stirring continually, and add a tiny bit of pink food coloring to get the desired color} and let them add their toppings.

Not much makes my kids smile more than a cup of hot cocoa with way too much whipped cream!

I love the idea of a hot cocoa bar, and even better pink hot chocolate! Will definitely be giving this a try for Valentine’s Day.
