Michaels provided me with compensation to share their Grand Opening event but all thoughts and opinions are my own. #MadeWithMichaels

If you live in the DFW metroplex, I’ve got plans for you on Sunday!  Stop by the Grand Opening of the new Michaels Store in Southlake and take part in the festivities!  I promise, you won’t regret it!  The new store is all kinds of fabulous!

Last night, I had the opportunity to attend a blogger event at the new Southlake location {1051 E. Southlake Boulevard, Southlake, TX}.  It was such a fun evening!

We made our own drinks at an italian soda bar {how great is that chalkboard art?  I’ll be stealing this idea for a party!} …

… enjoyed some delicious snacks …

… hung out with Jo Pearson {I’m a big fan from her Craft War days} …

… then spent some time crafting with some of the latest products at Michaels.

It was so fun to get hands-on with the denim line!  I’m a bit smitten with all of it!

After our crafting time, we got a VIP tour of the store … and let me tell you, it’s beautiful!  One thing is clear: Michaels has been listening to its customers!  Bold signage makes it easy to navigate the store, bright colors adorn the walls, and the lighting makes browsing easy.

My favorite part of the new store?  The Make Market, a market-style area near the front that features the latest crafting and DIY trends.  {All stores will eventually have this … squeal!}

The products are a blend of pre-made and raw materials, perfect for those who love to craft as well as those who want things ready to go.

I was excited to see some of the new yarn products as well.  Isaac Mizrahi has a new craft yarn exclusive to Michaels {see the yarn in the top row, second from the right?  I’ve already got that one cast on my needles!} …

… and Lion Brand also has an exclusive yarn at Michaels called Woolspun {the texture is beautiful for crafting or knitting and crochet}.

Walking through the store, I filled my arms with a number of fun items {some of which you’ll see soon on the blog} and I already can’t wait to go back.  I’m truly so excited about the new store concepts and products!

If you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, be sure to stop by the Southlake store {1051 E. Southlake Boulevard, Southlake, TX} on Sunday, February 8th, 2015 to take part in the Grand Opening festivities!  Grand opening celebrations begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 am.  The first 100 people in line receive mystery gift cards and there will be hourly prize giveaways!  Fun, right?  Be sure to stop by!

    My husband and I went to the Fresh Market over there to see what it was about, and I made him drive by the Michael’s to see if it was open yet. I am so excited to go!
