My red painted front door was sponsored by PPG Paints. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
In every house I’ve lived in since becoming an adult, I’ve had a brightly painted front door. I’ve had yellow, blue, green, and everything in between. And now I have red! Last week, my house got a bright red painted front door and I’m so happy with the new and improved curb appeal!
I’m a firm believer that a home should be a reflection of the people who live there and I didn’t feel like our very plain, very boring beige front door was reflecting us well … at least I hope it wasn’t {wink}! There was nothing terribly wrong with it but it didn’t fit with the bright and cheery color palette in the rest of the house.
I was super excited when Paintzen showed up last week to transform it!
Paintzen is the only company that provides an all-in-one service that includes a digital quote generator and the ability to purchase paint, supplies, and professional painting services all together. The one-stop shopping means you can effortlessly transform a space in your home!
They prepped the area completely, even removing the hardware and weather stripping from around the door, patched a few spots in the door …
… then got ready to coat the door with PPG Paints!
PPG Paints has recently opened fourteen new stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and, along with that venture, they unveiled a paint color collection inspired by the beauty of Texas. With these new colors, you can easily incorporate Texas-inspired style in your home and highlight the unique tones and architectural styles of the state.
I had a hard time deciding on a color because I loved so many of the colors, from the golden yellow Mariposa to the garden tones of Mexican Jade to the soft farmhouse style of Southern Breeze. But because I love color {and lots of it!}, I chose Blaze, a bright red color that makes a statement!
After prepping the area, Paintzen started spraying …
… and I was excited after the first coat, getting a glimpse of how it would look when it was all finished.
Painting a door in 95 degree heat and high humidity is no easy task. A bug even made a trek across the freshly painted door at one point but the professionals from Paintzen had it covered and within a few hours I had the most cheerful front door on the block!
PPG Paints BREAK-THROUGH!® Exterior dries to the touch in 15-20 minutes making it the perfect paint for doors. It also has a low VOC and a low odor formula, outstanding block resistance, and maintains flexibility to endure extreme bends and deformation without cracking and peeling. For me, I think that means when my kids throw a basketball at the door or crash into it with their elbows or kick it open with their feet {because we all know kids do that!}, the paint will hold up!
When the door was completely dry, I hung my painted log wreath back up …
… and I won’t lie: I’ve stood and stared at my door quite a bit. I’ve wanted to change the color since the day I moved in last fall and I’m so happy with how it turned out!
It’s now a true reflection of my style and the perfect introduction to the color you’ll see when you walk through the door.
It’s cheery and welcoming …
… and will be the perfect backdrop when I decorate my front porch area for the holidays!

Love it! The only clue that’s your porch was the turquoise bench. Now it’s all you.

Beautiful. I am trying to find a color to go with my UGLY orangeish/rust brinks.
Any suggestions?

Are you wanting a bright color? If not, a deep, dark color might look great and provide a strong balance for your bricks. Knight’s Armor and Black Magic from PPG are both really great dark colors!
