Painted Log Wreath

I’ve been looking around my house lately, taking an inventory of things that need small {or big} changes.  Do you do that too?  Sometimes the smallest changes make such a difference in decor.  This painted log wreath is one of those tiny changes that’s having a big impact … and I love the addition of color to one of my favorite projects!

I made this log wreath {get the full tutorial by clicking on that link} a couple of years ago and, while I loved it, the neutrality of it just didn’t fit well with my decor.  I love color and my house is full of pops of color in every room.  I decided the log wreath needed some pops of color too.

I hit up my extensive craft paint stash and grabbed colors commonly found in my house …

… then used a small brush to paint the ends of random logs on the wreath.

I spaced out the color and left most of the logs unpainted.  I just wanted a bit of color while still maintaining the natural look of the branches and twigs.

It only took me about ten minutes to add color to the wreath but the difference is just so fun!  I loved the wreath before but I’m smitten with it now.

That little bit of color has added so much.  And now I’m looking through every room, wondering what I should paint next!
