For as long as I can remember, my Dad has had a cloth handkerchief in his pants pocket. It’s so old school but something that I just love. I can remember ironing them when I was a teen and seeing a handkerchief just instantly makes me think of my Dad. If your Dad or grandfather is old school like mine, he’ll love these simple personalized handkerchiefs! They’d make a great Father’s Day, birthday, or Christmas gift for any traditional male in your life!
To make your own personalized handkerchiefs, you’ll need plain white handkerchiefs and whatever material you choose to use to create the wording or monogram. I used iron-on heat transfer but you could make these with fabric paint or markers as well.
If you’re using heat transfer, create the words or monogram on your cutting machine software and cut it out. Don’t forget to create it backwards so it’ll iron on the right way.
Choose a monogram or words that are fun and appropriate for a handkerchief: gesundheit and bless you are perfect but ah-choo would be so cute too!
Apply the heat transfer to the corner of the handkerchief according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Every time Dad or Grandpa pulls a handkerchief out of his pocket he’ll see the fun message or monogram and be reminded how much he’s loved.
And the best part? This project is so quick and easy that it makes the perfect last minute gift for your favorite guy!
