Laced Leather Coffee Cuff

I love making handmade gifts but it’s tough to find a good handmade gift idea for a guy.  While this laced leather coffee cuff would suit anyone, it would really make a great gift for Father’s Day or an end of the year gift for a male teacher.  It’s also super easy to make and takes just a few minutes … which is always a win, right?

To make a laced leather coffee cuff, you’ll need a piece of leather and leather or suede lace.  You can buy a small piece of leather trim at your local craft store or buy a scrap of leather at the fabric store.  You’ll also need a leather punch {affiliate link}.

Using a disposable coffee cuff from a coffee shop, use it as a pattern to cut the leather but rather than making a piece that will overlap, cut both ends in the same shape, angling the cut from top to bottom.

Using a ruler and a pen, mark even intervals along both short ends …

… and, using the leather punch, punch a hole over each mark.  Use the hole size that closely matches the width of the suede lace.

Once each hole is punched, pull out the leather plugs, leaving lacing holes along the sides of the coffee cuff.

Place the cuff around a cup to check the size then thread the suede lace through the holes, the same way you would lace a shoe, pulling the suede lace tight enough that the cuff will fit snugly around a coffee cup.

Tie the lace off in a knot at the bottom of the cuff to secure it and slip the cuff onto a cup.

The laced leather coffee cuff looks classy and masculine and makes the perfect gift for that hard-to-buy for guy.
