Summer makes me think of sangria. I love the fruity flavor, the addition of seasonal fruit, and the fact that drinking sangria usually means I’m hanging out with friends, possibly poolside. The perfect summer picture, right? Last year, I made a delicious sangria float and it got me thinking that blending that float into a sangria sherbet shake would probably taste amazing. And guess what? It does!
To make a creamy sangria sherbet shake, start with a bottle of storebought sangria. I love the flavor of Yellow Tail Sangria but any brand will work.
For each shake, pour one cup of cold sangria into the blender and add two cups of frozen orange sherbet.
Blend the ingredients well until the mixture has a shake consistency {about a minute} then pour it into a glass {or a mason jar}, add a cute paper straw, and give it a little garnish. A sprig of mint or a skewer of frozen grapes works perfectly and adds a pretty burst of color.
Sit back and enjoy sips of this slightly sweet, perfectly cool sangria shake … and be sure to make enough to share.
And for more sangria treats, grab these recipes for a delicious sangria float …
… and frozen sangria popsicles.
