Upgrade

Upgrade

The playhouse got a little upgrade while Poppa was here over Christmas.  As per the twins’ request, a wireless doorbell was installed. Now if only Tate would start walking full-time so she can join in the playhouse fun. I’ve started truncating my posts … please pop over to my blog to read the rest!

Fabric Organization

Fabric organization

Since we moved into this house, my system for storing fabric has been dismal: many large Rubbermaid boxes stacked in the garage.  They used to be sorted by color but over time {and with my laziness}, the colors have become mixed and have spilled over and become a general nightmare. Tate recently moved out of […]

Amphibians

Amphibians

Luke is a lizard-lovin’ little boy so when the sisters were thinking of Christmas ideas for him, amphibians were an obvious choice.  I helped them create a couple of things that have been a huge hit with their brother. We used my Silhouette and bright yellow heat transfer material {that I won in a contest – […]

A Picnic Party

A picnic party

One of the sweetest people I know celebrated a birthday this week.  She loves fun details and I knew she’d appreciate a themed gathering of her friends.  I hosted a simple picnic for a small group. I covered the table with an old quilt centered with a lacy heirloom cloth {I have a box of […]

A First Aid Kit for Dolls

This summer, we found a cute Get Well doll on clearance at Target for an amazing price and the boys stashed it in the attic to give to Lila for Christmas.  It comes with a syringe, a medicine spoon, and a stethoscope.  You can actually hear the dolly’s heartbeat through the stethoscope and she does […]

Our Christmas Card :: The Nativity

Our christmas card :: the nativity

This year’s Christmas card debuted Lila’s artwork.  That sweet girl spends hours drawing and coloring every day and I thought it would be fun to have a memento of that.  I love her precious little Nativity scene … even if Joseph is having a really bad hair day. And she gave birth to her firstborn […]

Mini Gingerbread Houses for the Edge of a Mug

mini gingerbread houses with melted sugar glue

Remember the sugar hearts I made to hang on the side of a cup?  Well, last year I bookmarked these amazing mini gingerbread houses for the edge of a mug and vowed to make them this year.  Over the last few weeks, I’ve seen them featured on many different blogs and I couldn’t wait to make some. […]

Christmas Dresses

Christmas dresses

All of the must-finish Christmas sewing is complete.  Phew.  Three of the children will be wearing {coordinating} store-bought clothes on Christmas Eve but I decided to sew matching dresses for Lila and Tate.  I used Lil Blue Boo’s Patchwork Dress pattern but replaced the flower with my own shabbier version. I hope I can get […]

Polar Express Party

polar express playdate

This Polar Express party post contains affiliate links. When we were planning Lila’s Nutcracker Tea, Luke was a little disappointed that he wasn’t having a Christmas playdate with his friends.  I decided to throw together a simple Polar Express party for Luke and two of his friends. I’m a big believer that parties don’t have […]

Nutcracker Tea Party Ideas

This nutcracker tea party post contains affiliate links. When my oldest daughter was a little girl, we attended a Nutcracker Tea at Christmas many years in a row.  It was held at a little tearoom where the girls {and their moms} dressed up, dined on plates of goodies, and watched a snippet of a live […]

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Dog Biscuits

homemade peanut butter oatmeal dog biscuits

Today was the annual baking of the homemade dog biscuits that I give to all the family dogs for Christmas each year. This year I made a peanut butter oatmeal dog biscuit that was a big hit with the furry canine crowd. My sweet bulldog taste tester approved of the final results.  This is actually […]

Pistachio Cranberry Goat Cheese Log

pistachio cranberry goat cheese log

After the busyness of Thanksgiving week and all the extra cooking and company, today was set aside for relaxing and enjoying long, lazy moments.  We went to a couple of shops to do a little Black Friday shopping and now we’re heating up Thanksgiving leftovers and enjoying a little happy hour with this pistachio cranberry goat cheese […]
