Americana Vinyl Chargers

I may be a Canadian living in the States but I love the sense of patriotism in America … and I love an Americana party theme in the summertime.  Red, white, and blue looks so fresh and crisp and makes the perfect tablescape.  These simple Americana vinyl chargers are easy to make and will make your summer tablescape shine!

americana vinyl chargers

To make the chargers, you’ll start with plain chargers in any color and vinyl in red, white, and blue.  You can find a variety of chargers at your local craft store.  I chose silver because it feels festive and fun!

If you have a cutting machine, you’ll cut the various colors of vinyl on that.  If you don’t have a machine, you can easily cut these simple shapes by hand and use a star-shaped paper punch for the stars.

In the photo below, you can see that I started with a simple flag template, placed a circle the size of the center of my charger over it, and cut each of the three colors.  When everything is cut, you should have a large red circle, a quarter of a blue circle, partial white stripes, and white stars.

Once the pieces are cut, you simply layer the different colors, beginning with the red circle …

Super simple, right?  Add a clear plastic or glass plate to hold the food and you have fun and colorful vinyl chargers that’ll ring in the holiday in style!

If you want to add a few other DIY touches, paint a red striped dropcloth tablecloth and stitch up some simple felt cozies for mason jars.

You’re ready for a summer party!  Fire up that grill and celebrate!
