Turkey Shirts for my Little Turkeys

I like to have special, themed shirts for the three little kids in our family to wear on Thanksgiving Day.  The shirts add a more festive touch to the day and they add a bit of coordination to all the holiday photos that get taken during the festivities.  This year, I made little turkey shirts for Luke, Lila, and Tate using my cutting machine and white heat transfer.  They were quick and easy to whip up and can even be made at the last minute!

To make these turkey shirts, you’ll need t-shirts, white heat transfer {or any color you desire}, a cutting machine, and a hot iron.

I downloaded a turkey silhouette using my cutting machine software, sized it as needed, and added text above it in a cute and whimsical font.

When cutting, don’t forget to flip the image backwards when using heat transfer.  I cut the design out with white heat transfer and ironed them onto shirts according to the package instructions.  I used a brown striped shirt for Luke and red shirts for the girls, all of them bought cheaply at Walmart.

It’s so easy to make special shirts for any occasion and these cute little turkey shirts will look adorable on my little turkeys this Thanksgiving!

I’m planning on making the poor man’s version of these (freezer paper stencil) today for my boys and am wondering about what size the word “little” is. 5″?? 6″??

If you get a chance to get back on this, THANK you in advance!!

    Danielle,

I sent you an email but in case you don’t get it – yes, the word is about six inches across and the turkey is about 2.5-3 inches across. Hope your shirts turn out well!

Love your tees. I have been thinking about getting some of the heat transfer paper to use with my Silhouette. How does it hold up? Does it come off when you wash the tees?
