I’m a lifelong coffee lover but sometimes nothing hits the spot quite like an iced matcha tea latte.  I’ve tried making them many times at home without a whole lot of luck but I’ve finally found just the right measurements to create the perfectly sweetened tea!

Iced Matcha Tea Latte Ingredients

To make an iced matcha tea latte, you’ll need unsweetened matcha tea powder, water, sugar, and milk or a milk substitute.  I haven’t tried making this with a sugar substitute but please let me know if you try that!

I’m definitely not an expert on matcha tea powder but for a recipe like this, I don’t think you have to spend a pile of money on matcha to get good results.  Because the powder is blended with other ingredients, a lower priced matcha will work fine.

How to Make an Iced Matcha Tea Latte

If you have an electric hand mixer, that will be the easiest way to blend the ingredients.  My KitchenAid hand mixer is one of the most used appliances in my kitchen and worth every penny.  For so many things, it’s far easier to grab a hand mixer than to lug out my giant stand mixer.

In a small bowl, mix the matcha tea powder with the water and use the electric mixer or a whisk to blend completely.  You’ll want to make sure there aren’t any lumps left.

Add the sugar and whisk again until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is fully dissolved.  I use equal parts of all the ingredients because, to me, it gives the best flavor, but you can definitely experiment with using less sugar, if desired.

… and stir until the milk and matcha mixture are completely blended.  The amount of matcha mixture that you add will depend on how strong you like the drink but I typically add a couple of tablespoons.

Add some cute paper straws and enjoy those delicious antioxidants {wink}!
