Does your dog have horrible breath?  My dog’s breath isn’t awful but my parents always have dogs with disastrous breath.  Did you know parsley can help?  In addition to all the great health benefits it has for dogs, it also has the benefit of helping with bad breath!  These sweet potato parsley dog biscuits will hopefully help freshen your dog’s breath … and if not, they’ll definitely be an enjoyable and healthy treat!

sweet potato parsley dog biscuit to freshen breath

To make sweet potato parsley dog biscuits, you’ll need

5 ounces sweet potato pureed baby food

2 eggs

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour, and

1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley.

{As with any recipe for your pet, check with your vet before introducing any food into your pet’s diet.}

parsley dog biscuit ingredients

In a bowl, whip together the eggs and the sweet potato baby food.  Add the flour, mixing with your hands if necessary.  Dog biscuit dough is typically quite dry so squeeze it together until the ingredients are well blended but don’t add any extra moisture even if you’re tempted!

Squeeze or fold in the the chopped parsley until well combined.

Roll the dough out on a floured surface until it’s 1/4 inch thick {I use rolling pin dough bands [affiliate link] to get an even thickness when I make anything with dough} and use a dog bone shaped cookie cutter {affiliate link} to cut the shapes.

Place on a greased baking sheet, about 1/4 inch apart {the dog cookies will hardly spread and will only rise a bit taller} and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Let the biscuits cool completely then store them in an airtight container.
