Wine Snow Cones

Years ago, I attended a blogging conference and wine snow cones were served at an evening cocktail party.  They were such a fun and unique idea and I decided to try making my own version this week.  These grown-up snow cones would be perfect for a girl’s night in, a summer cocktail party, or even an at-home date night.  Use your favorite wine or experiment with different varieties until you make the perfect cocktail snow cone for your palate!

To make wine snow cones, you’ll need paper cones {affiliate link} or cups, shaved ice, and chilled wine.  I love a rich, red wine with hearty tones but I think a rosé snow cone or a moscato snow cone would be really delicious as well.

You can crush the ice in a blender or food processor, dig out the Snoopy snow cone machine {wink}, or buy unflavored shaved ice from a local snow cone shop.  If you like a really slushy snow cone with fine ice, buying shaved ice might be your best bet.

Use your favorite wine flavor or try something new.  Red or white varieties are both great but a sweeter wine will likely be more popular with guests since most people expect a snow cone to have a sweet flavor.  Sangria is delicious and you can even try a mimosa.  There are so many great options for these alcoholic snow cones!

Garnish with a sprig of mint or a couple of berries and serve!  This is such a fun treat for summer and will take the edge off those steamy summer days.
