Luke and Lila have their playgroup Valentine party on Monday so we’ve been crafting homemade valentines today. Okay, I’ve been crafting stitched candy heart valentines and they’ve been signing their names. I love homemade valentines … along with theme parties, it might be a reason I had children {wink}.
Lila’s heartbreaker valentines were inspired by this cute idea. I used contrasting scrapbook paper for the back of the heart and, rather than staple the hearts together, I sewed them. They’re filled with pink, red, and white M&M’s. The fronts of the valentines were printed on my computer and then I traced hearts around them with a scrapbooking stencil.
Lila was very pleased with her stitched candy hearts and can’t wait to hand them out out on Monday.

… and a handmade chalkboard valentine that the younger crowd will love!

Happy weekend!
Love them! And I totally agree, homemade ones rock.
Great job and they are so sweet. One year I made candy ipods for my daughter’s class from directions I found in Family Fun and I was so proud of myself. Daughter thought they were great but I was the one that was really excited. We live childhood again through our kids! BTW, I think we must be neighbors because our posts are similar regarding the weather.
I love this! So sweet! I would love to see pictures when they are handed out.
I LOVE these! Wish I had found them sooner.. ha ha. I’ll have to find a reason to make these, I think 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
