It’s almost time to start thinking about making homemade valentines.  Or maybe you’ve already started thinking about it.  Since almost all little boys, and maybe little girls too, go through a big dinosaur stage, a dino valentine is the perfect homemade valentine for young kids.  This easy idea will be the hit of the preschool class and the fun will last long after Valentine’s Day is over!

These dinosaur valentines are so easy to throw together and can be quickly made by gathering the kids up for an assembly line.  Grab a pile of dinosaurs {affiliate link through Amazon or you can often find them at the dollar store}, hit up your craft stash for some coordinating ribbon or tulle, and print as many copies as you’ll need of the dino valentine printable to attach to the dinosaurs.

Trim the printable tags, poke or punch a small hole in the side, string a piece of ribbon or tulle through the hole, and tie the tag to the neck of the dinosaur …

… or even onto a spine.  If kids plan to sign or write names on the tags, it may be easier to do that before you tie the tags onto the dinosaurs.

Simple as can be and you can throw them together in no time … which makes these dino valentines the perfect last minute idea.  And the best part?  For those of you that like to avoid candy, these dino valentines are completely health-conscious {wink}.

Clever idea for the little ones! I always prefer handmade Valentine’s to store bought.
