Homemade dog biscuits and carrots are both on the top ten list of favorite foods for my dog. Combine the two and I have one very happy pup. These homemade carrot dog biscuits are a twist on some dog biscuits I’ve made before and they got the stamp of approval from the family pups! {My dogs love homemade treats and I can’t wait to try these homemade dog treats from my friend, Kim, too!} Check out this easy recipe and be sure let me know if you try it!
Homemade Carrot Dog Biscuits Recipe
To make carrot dog biscuits, stir together
2 eggs
1 jar of carrot baby food {4.25 ounces}, and
2 1/2 cups flour.
{As with any recipe for your pet, check with your vet before introducing any food into your pet’s diet.}
Once the ingredients are mixed, you may need to use your hands to really knead it all together and ensure it’s fully combined. The dough will be a bit sticky and just slightly dry. Don’t be tempted to add more liquid … dog biscuit dough is dry by nature.
Roll the biscuit dough out on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with a dog bone cookie cutter {affiliate link} or another favorite cookie cutter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until the cookies are firm and fully baked {if you use a small cookie cutter, they may be done in a bit shorter time so keep an eye on them}. Let the dog treats cool completely then store them in an airtight container. If your dog won’t polish off this batch quickly, you may want to refrigerate them for best results.
Your dog, and possibly all the neighborhood canines, will thank you when they taste these simple, three-ingredient carrot dog cookies!

Thanks for the recipe…I never thought of using baby food! My dogs are going to be happy! A word of caution though, you shouldn’t give your dog garlic (it is of the onion genus).

Thanks for the information. I actually did some research and got varying reports on it but this is a great source … thanks for sharing!
SHERI says
That is correct. Garlic becomes a toxicity in the dogs digestive system.

how hard are they ? I tried some other recipes from the Internet, but they came out hard as stone… and I would love to be able to prepare my three furry babies something homemade and healthy ?
Randi Dukes says
They’re not hard as a rock but they are hard, much like the texture of store bought dog biscuits.

Gosh, I’m sorry … I have no idea. But I bet you could put the ingredients into an online calculator and it might give you an estimate.
