Last week a friend and I had a conversation about how much I don’t like koozies and then I wandered in the dollar spot at Target and saw these … and couldn’t resist! While they really aren’t my favorite accessory, they’re quite practical for Texas and the heavy condensation that forms on glasses and these striped ones were just too cute. I used my Cricut to add a little text and now I have festive fourth of July drink holders that are perfect for our Independence Day fun!
To make these drink holders, you’ll need {wait for it} drink holders and white iron-on heat transfer.
Using Cricut Design Space, create the ‘snack crackle pop’ text {the sound of fireworks on the fourth of July} in a font you like then cut it out with your Cricut Explore Air 2 machine {isn’t the new gold machine just fabulous?}. Don’t forget to click the box for mirror image so the text cuts correctly. Nothing stinks more than cutting a project and then realizing the text is backwards.
Use a hot, dry iron to adhere the heat transfer text to the drink holders …
… and you’re all set for your Memorial Day cookout or the fourth of July party! Just add some cute napkins, some starry paper straws, and you’ve got the makings of a star spangled beverage bar!
And if you’d rather create something that you can use for any summer holiday or event, change up the text to something a little less holiday-ish that will suit any occasion.
