Do you collect sand from beaches you visit? I love to save little souvenir jars and tiny vials as a vacation keepsake but if you want more than just a jar of sand sitting in a cabinet, this DIY beach sand jewelry is a really fun way to hold on to a bit of sand from a vacation you never want to forget: a honeymoon, an anniversary trip, or a beach adventure full of special memories. It goes beyond your average vacation souvenir and turns those memories into a piece of jewelry with a story.
To make DIY beach sand jewelry, you’ll need a ring or pendant that has edges on it along with a bracelet, necklace, or whatever you want to wear the charm on.
You can find all of the pieces you’ll need at your local craft store.
You’ll also need clear crafting epoxy {a two step kit you can buy through this affiliate link} and a small bit of sand from your vacation. Don’t worry if you only have a tiny sampling of sand … each piece of jewelry will only hold a scant amount.
Spread the sand into the pendant or ring, leaving some room for the resin to sit on top …
… and follow the manufacturer’s instructions to mix the resin {it’s a two step process but very simple}. Gently pour it over the sand, filling the charm but obviously not overfilling, and allow the piece to dry for at least twenty-four hours.
Once dry, you can wear your souvenir in style, remembering those special moments on the beach!

What a fun way to preserve the memories of a trip to the beach. It has been forever since I’ve been to the beach. I love that you can see the little bits of broken shells in with the sand.
That is such a great idea! I love collecting sand from places we visit, but then it seems like such a waste to just hold on to it. Sharing and Pinning! 🙂 Lisa
I love this! I’m at the beach now, so I’ll be bringing home some sand! Thanks for linking up to #HomeMattersParty
