Sometimes a sweet tooth just has to be satisfied and chocolate mint puppy chow is the perfect way to do that!  It takes mere minutes to make, is minty goodness all wrapped up in a snack mix, and you can tell yourself that the cereal makes it one hundred percent healthy {smile}.

To make a batch of chocolate mint puppy chow, you’ll need one regular sized box of cereal.  I like to use Crispix because I like the shape but Chex works great too.  You’ll also need a package of mint chocolate chips {Andes are my favorite because the flavor is unbeatable} and powdered sugar.

In addition to the main ingredients, you’ll need some mix-ins.  I like green M&M’s, Junior Mints, and mini Oreos but you can add your favorites and even use different colors to match any theme or holiday.

In a microwave safe container, melt the mint chocolate chips.  I microwave them in thirty second increments, stirring in between, until they’re fully melted.  Don’t overheat or the chocolate will begin to harden!  Pour the box of cereal into a large bowl, drizzle the chocolate on top, and use a spatula to toss the mixture gently until most of the cereal pieces are covered with melted chocolate.

Slowly pour one cup of powdered sugar onto the chocolate-covered cereal, stirring as you go, until the cereal pieces are coated completely and powdered sugar is stuck to the melted chocolate.

… and serve!  Be warned: the mint chocolate flavor is so good that this snack mix will get gobbled up in no time!  It’s almost like eating a Thin Mint in a snack mix but possibly a bit more addictive {wink}!
