Oh wow, you guys.  Have you tried new Reese’s Spreads?  Peanut butter chocolate goodness in a jar.  And these apple nachos with Reese’s Spreads are my new favorite snack!

apple nachos made with reese's spreads

I grabbed some Reese’s Spreads in the peanut butter aisle at Walmart and actually lucked out and got to see a demo as well.  My younger girls and I were the first in line for samples and we all loved it!  Honestly, the flavor was so much better than I was expecting … and I’m already a huge chocolate peanut butter fan!  And what could be better than chocolate and peanut butter in a spreadable form?  The jar went home with me and we used it to make a fun after-school snack this week.  And you know what?  When the kids know apple nachos are waiting, they’re able to fly through the homework at record speed!

To make these apple nachos, you’ll need one jar of Reese’s Spreads, 3 or 4 apples {I mixed Red Delicious and Granny Smith}, and 1/4 cup macadamia nuts.

ingredients for reese's apple nachos

Slice each apple into thin slices {I used an apple slicer and then cut each slice in half} and layer them on the plate.  Layer an outer circle, then stack another circle a bit closer to the center, and repeat.  Three layers was enough to cover a dinner-sized plate.

Spread Reese’s Spreads over the apples or heat the spread for one minute in a saucepan and drizzle over the apples.

Roughly chop the macadamia nuts and sprinkle them over top.

Serve to the masses and watch those apple slices disappear!  This is seriously my new favorite snack and I’m thinking about hiding a jar of Reese’s Spreads in my mommy snack cupboard for emergencies {wink}.
