Carrot Treat Cones

Are you thinking about Easter and all the festivities yet?  I love the way carrots have become such a popular Easter theme.  I think I might love them because they’re my favorite color but I also love the simplicity and natural style.  I decided it would be fun to make carrot treat cones for the kids.  These simple treat or snack cones would be perfect for the annual Easter egg hunt or for an Easter party!  They don’t take long to make and the cute factor is big!

To make these carrot treat cones, you’ll need disposable paper snow cone cups {affiliate link}, bright orange paint, and a paint brush.  I used Spiced Pumpkin Americana paint by DecoArt for a bold orange tone.

Paint the outsides of the paper cones with a coat of orange paint and let them dry completely.  One coat should be all you need.

Once fully dry, fill the paper cones with orange candy or orange-wrapped candies and chocolates.

Create the carrot tops by placing stiff ribbon or pipe cleaners into the pile of candy.  The candy will hold the stems in place.

I used stiff velvet ribbon in a bright green color and made the pieces different heights to add more texture and look like a real carrot stem.

If you’d rather serve something besides candy, you could also fill the cones with an orange snack like doritos or cheese balls.

These bright orange carrot treat cones are so festive and fun and they’re sure to be a big hit with the kiddos!
