An After-School Treat

My kiddos will have a fun little after-school treat waiting when they come home from school today: alphabet sprinkle cups filled with milk, served alongside their favorite snack.  It’s the perfect way to celebrate the first day of school or the end of a successful week … or a great way to encourage the kiddos when school’s a bit tough.

To make these alphabet sprinkle cups, you’ll need alphabet and number sprinkles {affiliate link} and white chocolate or candy melt.  You could also use any bright and colorful sprinkles, preferably in primary school-type colors … kids aren’t picky!

Dip the edges of the glasses in melted white chocolate or colored candy melt {melt it in the microwave according to package instructions} and then, before the chocolate hardens, quickly press the rim of the glass into a dish full of alphabet and number sprinkles.  I used disposable glasses so I don’t have to spend the remainder of the afternoon scraping melted chocolate off cups but this idea would work equally well with regular glasses.

Let the candy harden completely before serving.  Placing the glasses in the fridge is the easiest way to solidify the chocolate quickly.

The kids will love this fun little welcome home treat and it’s a great way to end the first week of school.

Omg my boys would love this–their two fav things in the world, milk and sprinkles…only thing that could make it better is chocolate 🙂
