This afternoon I had the honor of co-hosting a baby shower for my sweet friend, Amanda. It was such a blessing to be able to celebrate Amanda and her children. Her family’s story is one of God’s amazing grace and restoration and makes me believe with all my heart that God knows the desires of our hearts and longs to give us those desires.
Amanda liked the idea of having a vintage style to the baby shower and, since I love all things vintage, the plan was set in motion. It was a great excuse to pull out the heirloom linens and use our vintage doll toys as decorations.
An old doll bed held the cake, with a silver brush hanging from the bedpost.
A vintage doll high chair held the forks and napkins as well as a silver baby cup.
Other silver details, old books, and Italian book pages added a little fun to the table …
… and a vintage suitcase held papers where guests wrote blessings for the family.
One of our friends got sick at the last minute so I ended up baking the cake for the shower. It looked nothing like the inspiration picture {found here} and I almost considered using storebought cupcakes instead but we decided that, even in its crumbling state, it kind of had the shabby look we were going for.
A sweet quote sat next to the punch bowl {a bowl containing the best coffee punch you’ve ever tasted, courtesy of my friend, Jenny}.

It was a fun shower and it was such a blessing to celebrate Amanda and her babies and rejoice over her growing family.

I’ve started truncating my posts … please pop over to my blog to read the rest!
Love the quote….please share the coffee punch recipe.
You did a great job, Randi! It came together beautifully! The cake (even in it’s semi-crumbling state) was delicious. Here’s the coffee punch recipe:
1 gallon of whole milk (must use whole)
1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream
1/2 gallon of chocolate ice cream
2 oz. of instant coffee (can use decaf)
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of water
In a saucepan, mix coffee/sugar and water and heat until melted. Then refrigerate- it will get kind of syrupy. Before guests arrive, pour chilled syrup in punch bowl. Add entire gallon of milk. Then add all the ice cream (by scoops) into the punch. Stir. The ice cream doesn’t have to melt all the way. It serves as the ice. Enjoy!
How beautiful! Congratulations to Amanda and her family.
so so perfect. you are so good at the details and making everything fit! before i read the post, i just looked at the pics and thought how well the cake fit…i think it fits better with the vintage feel than the pinterest cake in all of its’ perfection would have 🙂 really. and can you post the coffee punch recipe? it looks soooo good!
It was all so lovely — even the cake. Everything was perfect! Thank you so much for all your hard work. <3
