A Peeps Garland

I don’t particularly like eating Peeps but I sure do like looking at them.  I think plump and colorful bunny Peeps are just the cutest things and I couldn’t resist stringing them together to make a fun and whimsical Peeps garland for Easter!

To make a Peeps garland, buy a few packages of Peeps.  You can find them anywhere this time of year.  Alternate colors, create a pattern, or stick with a monochromatic garland … any style would look super cute.  You’ll also need white or colored gumballs to string in between the Peeps.  The dollar store is a great place to get cheap gumballs for a project like this.

With a thick needle and embroidery thread, pierce the Peep right under his ears {it sounds barbaric, doesn’t it?} and pull the thread slowly through.  If you pull it too quickly or pull it toward the front or back of the Peep, it’ll tear through.

String a gumball onto the thread then add another Peep and continue that pattern until the garland is as long as you’d like.  Be warned … the longer it gets, the heavier it will get so a short garland is probably optimal.  Your needle will also get really sticky and wiping it down in between Peeps will make it easier to thread.

Super simple but super adorable too.  Who doesn’t love a chubby bunny garland hanging in the house at Easter?  You could also string it between two wooden skewers and use it as a festive cake topper for Easter!

This is so cute! I was eating a peep the other day and quickly took it out of my mouth! I love the peep so much more!
