We’re gearing up for Easter and ’tis the season of bunnies, chicks, and jelly beans!  This simple jelly bean garland adds a colorful and whimsical touch to your Easter decor and it’s so easy to make … even the kids can help with this simple Easter craft as long as they can handle a sewing needle!

To make a jelly bean garland, you’ll need one or two packages of jelly beans, depending on the length and number of garlands you want to make.  The jumbo jelly beans work best but you can also make a garland with regular sized jelly beans.  In addition to the candy, you’ll need regular sewing thread and a sewing needle.

Thread the needle and double it back so you have a double strand and knot the end a few times to make a thick knot.

Gently poke the needle through the thick center of a jelly bean and slide it down the thread, then repeat.  You can alternate colors, follow a pattern, or just make it really random.  With so many different kinds of jelly beans available you can also make a garland to match your Easter decorations or room decor.

Once you’ve threaded on as many jelly beans as you want, hang your garland on the mantel or anywhere you need a pop of color in your Easter decor.

It’s simple and fun and the kids will love it!

And for another fun touch, fill your gumball machine with the leftover jelly beans, the official candy of Easter {wink}!

What a cute/fun/different Easter decor idea- and the best part: it’s so easy and cheap to do! I love the Peeps garland, too. Thanks so much!
