Paper Doll Invitations for a Doll Party

This year, Tate celebrated her third birthday with a super cute at-home doll themed birthday party and we added a lot of creative, homemade elements to the party {click on that link to check it out because it was really cute!}.  The fun started with simple paper doll invitations that were the perfect way to invite guests to a doll party!

The colors for the doll birthday party {inspired by the fabric I used for Tate’s birthday dress} were red and pink.  The party used lots of different shades of those colors and lots of different patterns {I can never resist polka dots}.

I made paper dolls, with three adjoining dolls, out of plain white cardstock {you can find a template online if you want to get a perfect shape} then accessorized the dolls with patterned paper dresses in party colors.  I used my computer to print the party details on one of the patterned pieces and cut a dress shape around it then glued that piece to the center doll.

I didn’t add any other details because I love simple but if you want the invitations to be a little more elaborate you could add facial features and even little necklaces or shoes.  Wouldn’t they look cute with tiny pearl beads glued around the necks?

The dresses were {deliberately} an imperfect fit over the paper dolls which added a bit of whimsy and made them seem more childish, which was perfect for this little party.

We placed them in envelopes and mailed them to each guest but you could also hand deliver them.

These paper doll invitations were so simple and so sweet and the perfect way to invite friends to the doll party.
