17 Ways to Repurpose Frames

Thrift stores are full of old frames, most of them full of nasty old paintings or dated wall art.  I usually walk right by them and hardly stop to look but I’ll be viewing those frames a lot differently after finding all these amazing ways to repurpose frames!  From jewelry organizers to terrariums, you can do some pretty fabulous things with old frames!

17 ways to repurpose frames

Add some mesh wire to a frame and transform it into a framed photo holder.  I love this idea for an office or a teen room.  It’s perfect for holding polaroid photos!

That same wire can be used to make a chicken wire earring holder from a vintage frame.  The frame can be painted to match a room or bathroom.

This idea is incredible!  Turn a large frame into a framed tufted headboard that’ll add a regal and colorful tone to a room.

Use old frames to build a shadowbox frame shelf that’s perfect for displaying special trinkets and prized items.

Repurpose  a large frame into a DIY wood tray.  It would be just right for serving goodies at a party or a pretty addition to the coffee table.

Use old framed photos and a framed mirror to create a very unique towel rack for the bathroom.

Create a framed thread holder for the sewing or craft room.  This wicker frame adds such a cute vintage touch.

A succulent garden is always beautiful but it looks even better when framed with some color!

A tiered tray made from frames is such a clever DIY and it looks pretty great too!  Isn’t this a fun way to hold fruit or display your favorite mugs?

If you need a simple side table, this repurposed frame pedestal table is just the thing.  Colorful paint adds the perfect finishing touch.

I’m completely smitten with this idea.  Turn old frames into a succulent terrarium, faux or real.  This style of terrarium could hold anything, really: herbs, a house plant, or even a special non-living treasure.

Transform a frame into an upcycled bookshelf frame.  Wouldn’t a whole wall of these be perfect in a home office or library?

Add some wire to a frame to create a wire earring display that’ll make organization simple and stylish.

Tie an assortment of vases to frames to create a vase wall display that has such adorable farmhouse style!

Turn a small frame into a desk organizer to keep notes and pens handy.

Store extra sunglasses on a frame that’s been repurposed into a sunglasses holder.

Or, add some cork to an elaborate frame to create a cork board frame that would be gorgeous in a home office.

Cool lots of awesome ideas for upcycling old frames. Love the spool holder, and the hubby could use the sunglasses holder. Dont know why he has so many pairs he can never find them when he needs them. Lol

Ok, Love all the ideas but what do we do with the leftover glass from these frames? I got a few and not sure what to do with them…
