Wood Burned Banner

When I hosted the rustic Italian bridal shower for my niece last weekend, I added a few DIY details including a mixed media wood burned banner.  I wanted something to add a bit of texture and decor to the wall behind the food table and keep with the Italian theme and an amore banner seemed just right.  This banner idea could be adapted for any occasion and any word could obviously be used.  Let me show you how easy it is to make.

DIY wood burned banner

To make a wood burned banner, you’ll need canvas banner pieces, wood discs, burlap or canvas rosettes, string or yarn, and a wood burning tool.

Use one wood disc for each letter of the word you’ll use on the banner and lightly pencil them onto the wood pieces.

Using the wood burning tool, go over the pencil lines, filling in spaces as desired to create the look you want.

Complete the banner by attaching rosettes in between the canvas pieces.  Embellish more if desired or leave it as is for a simple, clean look.

This banner is quick and easy to make but the mix of textures and mediums really make it stand out.

I bought a wood burner a couple of years ago to try and haven’t used it but a couple times. I need to break it out and create with it! This is a great project to try. Pinned & sharing
