Washi Tape Gift Wrap

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I thought it might be fun to share a cute idea for gift wrapping with washi tape.  If you remember my duct tape gift wrap from a few months ago, you’ll see some similarities.  I love the versatility of both washi and duct tape and I love that they both make it so easy to brighten up a package.

To make the washi tape gift wrap, you’ll need a wrapped package and rolls of coordinating washi tape.  I used a white gable box for my package but you can also wrap a gift in white wrapping paper {or use my trick and turn patterned wrapping paper inside out and use the plain white inside}.

I wrapped two stripes of washi tape all around the bottom of my gift …

… and then made a washi tape flower.  I folded a piece of washi tape back on itself …

… and repeated until I had five petals.  I cut them all so they were equal length.

I overlapped two pieces of washi tape side by side and cut a leaf shape from them, then repeated that with another pattern of washi tape.

The flower petals were glued together with a dab of hot glue …

This washi tape gift wrap idea can be modified any way you’d like.  The possibilities are endless and I love that even a simple color change would give you such a different looking parcel.

What’s your favorite use for washi tape?
