Quick and easy desserts are my favorite and these tortilla apple dumplings are not only simple to make but they’re a fun change from regular cakes and cookies and absolutely delicious! They’re simple enough to throw together for a regular family dinner but delicious enough to serve for guests as well. And they’re hearty enough that they’re a perfect game time dessert for football watching! Just whip up an extra pan or two for the game day crowd.

To make one pan of tortilla apple dumplings, you’ll need uncooked TortillaLand flour tortillas, two or three Granny Smith apples, 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1 cup Mountain Dew soda.

You can find fresher-tasting TortillaLand tortillas in the refrigerated section at Costco. You’ll want to use this brand because they come uncooked which works perfectly for this recipe. You can wrap them around the apples and they bake up in the oven. Plus, TortillaLand tortillas only contain five ingredients {wheat flour, water, canola oil, salt, and sugar} making them a smart choice with great taste and texture.

Wrap half a tortilla around each apple slice and place them, seam side down, in a greased or buttered 9×13 baking dish. Line them up close together until the pan is full.

In the microwave, melt 1/2 cup of butter and stir in the sugar and cinnamon. Spread the mixture over the tortilla-wrapped apples then gently pour the cup of soda over top. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until the tortillas are crisp and golden.

Let the dumplings cool slightly …
