The Easiest Sweet Roll Recipe

We have a favorite sweet roll recipe in our house and we make a batch almost every weekend.  It takes just minutes to prepare, rises overnight, and is ready for baking in the morning.  My coffee glazed sweet rolls recipe is a version of this one but today I just want to share the bare bones recipe with you!

Ingredients for Easy Sweet Rolls

To make these easy sweet rolls, you’ll need frozen bread dough rolls {you want the ones that contain yeast and will rise when thawed}, brown sugar, and butter.  You can see the exact measurements in the recipe card below.

Once you taste these, you won’t believe that they require so little work and only three ingredients!

How to Make Easy Sweet Rolls

The key to these sweet rolls is letting them rise overnight so plan a few minutes in the kitchen the night before you want to serve them.

Spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray then place half the frozen rolls in the bottom of the pan, spacing them somewhat evenly.  As they thaw and rise, they’ll fill in.

Sprinkle half the brown sugar over the frozen rolls, place the rest of the rolls on top, again spacing somewhat evenly, then add the rest of the brown sugar.  Melt the butter in the microwave and pour it over the whole thing.

Wet a tea towel, wring it out so it’s just damp, place it over top of the pan, and let it sit overnight.

The rolls will thaw and rise during the night and you’ll wake up to a puffy surprise underneath the tea towel.

Gently lift the towel off the pan.  It may stick a little bit so peel it back carefully to avoid deflating the puffy rolls.

Preheat the oven then bake for 25 minutes.

Let it sit for one minute when it comes out of the oven then flip it over onto a serving platter.
