Simple Turkey Plate for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and if you’ve planned your whole menu but have forgotten to consider how you’re going to decorate the tables, I’ve got a fun idea for you!  This simple turkey plate is a perfect idea for the kids’ table and there’s a good chance you already have the supplies lying around the house in your kitchen cabinets and craft cupboard.  If not, substitute other items to make your own custom turkey plates!

Start with a white plate, add some colorful craft feathers {a variety of colors would be great but I only had orange and green in our craft stash}, use a leftover candy corn for the beak, and draw eyes and a wattle right onto the plate with edible markers.  {If you don’t have any leftover candy corn, you could draw the beak with edible markers or use a piece of fruit leather or even a sliver of carrot.}

 That’s it!  Just minutes of work and you have an adorable turkey plate.  Can’t you picture an entire table full of feathered plates?  You could even keep the kids amused by letting them decorate their own plates before dinner!
