These pan fried Asian dumplings are one of our favorite quick and easy meals. They start with frozen or fresh pre-made dumplings and only require a few ingredients to turn them into a fabulous and delightful meal for the family. And since they’re so quick to make, they’re ideal for those rushed weeknights when the calendar is just a bit too full and dinner time is rushed!
Here’s how you make this simple recipe.
Pan Fried Asian Dumplings
2 9-ounce packages fresh or frozen dumplings or pot stickers
1/4 cup rice vinegar
3 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons soy sauce, plus more for serving
1 16-ounce bag coleslaw mix {I prefer coleslaw that has shredded carrots and purple cabbage mixed in as well for some additional color and nutrition}
5 scallions, thinly sliced
1/4 cup roasted peanuts
Cook the dumplings according to the package directions {pan-frying is preferable to steaming because it gives the outside a delicious texture}.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, and 1/4 cup water. Add the coleslaw mix and toss. Divide the slaw among individual bowls and sprinkle with the scallions and peanuts. Top with the cooked dumplings. Drizzle any remaining sauce over the dumplings. Serve with additional soy sauce on the side, if desired. Serves four but you can easily double this recipe if needed.
If you love distinctive asian flavors, this recipe will become a regular on your monthly meal plan.
