Monogrammed Gold Painted Cups

This Thanksgiving I’ll be hosting dinner for at least twenty people and I’ve been looking for pretty and simple ways to dress up the table while minimizing the work that has to be done at the end of the night.  Disposable dishes are sounding more and more appealing {at least for the kiddos} so I decided to jazz up plastic cups with some spray paint.  These monogrammed gold painted cups will look pretty on my Thanksgiving table and will also help our guests remember which cup is theirs.

monogrammed gold painted disposable cups

It took less than ten minutes {plus drying time} and only three things to make these cups: plastic cups {you could also use plastic wineglasses}, letter stickers, and gold spray paint.

Adhere the stickers to the outside of the cups, ensuring that the edges are sealed completely to avoid seeping paint …

… then give a quick spray with the gold paint.  Be careful not to spray the paint on too thickly or you’ll get a lot of dripping.  I just sprayed in a sweeping motion for a second or two over each sticker.

Let the paint dry completely then peel the sticker off and you’ll be left with pretty but disposable monogrammed gold painted cups!

They’ll look beautiful on my Thanksgiving table but I think I’ll be making another set for Christmas {spray painted in silver} and maybe another set for New Year’s Eve!  Change up the paint color and you can have monogrammed cups for any occasion or theme party!

A perfectly easy way to add a bit of fancy to your table!
