Today’s project is so easy but so cute … and you just can’t go wrong with mason jars, right?  I’m going to show you how to make a mason jar piggy bank!

This project requires very little.  All you need is a clean mason jar {any size}, the rim of the lid, a slotted piggy bank style lid, and spray paint in your favorite color.

How to Make a Mason Jar Piggy Bank

You could probably use metal snips to make your own slotted lid but I found this genius slotted lid product at Jo-Ann.  It’s pretty likely that other craft stores carry them as well.  I think there are four in a package so you could whip up mason jar piggy banks for all the kids.

I used my cutting machine to cut a simple phrase/word {cha-ching} from vinyl and placed it on the mason jar then spray painted the jar and the lid pieces with bright orange spray paint.  Spray a couple of coats, then remove the vinyl letters before the paint dries.  If you leave it too long, removing the letters may also pull up the paint.

Once dry, this plain mason jar is now the cutest little mason jar piggy bank!
