The holiday season is such a great time to do a little extra crafting with the kids. They’re often home a bit more because of Christmas break and, if your kids are anything like mine, they can use a little extra entertainment to keep their minds off the excitement of those gifts waiting under the tree! These holiday yarn crafts require very little help from an adult and the kids will love making them to wear during the holiday season. They’d even make perfect gifts for friends or a fun activity for a holiday party!
To make these whimsical yarn Santa and yarn snowman necklaces, you need just a few craft supplies: metal rings in various sizes, tiny white pom poms, a glue gun or other glue, black ribbon, and yarn samplers from Darn Good Yarn. These yarn samplers are perfect for crafting because you get so many colors and textures without committing to an entire ball or skein of yarn.
If your child can loop yarn and tie a knot, they can make this Santa yarn necklace with ease. It can be made in any size, depending on the size of the metal ring you use, and it would also make a super cute ornament for the Christmas tree or a sweet gift topper!
The snowman necklace is just as easy to make although younger kids may need a little help forming the top hat. It’s not difficult, just a little finicky.
These holiday yarn crafts will keep the kids entertained for a while …
… and hopefully buy you some time to tackle all those other holiday projects!
