Halloween Balloon Straw Toppers

I love simple ideas that make everyday occasions a little more festive and fun and these halloween balloon straw toppers are a fun idea for jazzing up Halloween drinks.  They’re super easy to make, can be left as plain pumpkins or embellished like little jack o’lanterns, and they’ll add a fun flair to a drink!

halloween balloon straw toppers

To make these halloween balloon straw toppers, you’ll need small orange balloons {no bigger than five inches}, colorful paper or plastic straws, brown washi or kraft tape, and green ribbon.

supplies for pumpkin straw toppers

Blow up the balloons, inflating them only partially so they’re about 1 1/2-2 inches in diameter and tie them tightly.

Take a small strip of kraft or washi tape and wrap it around the tied piece to create the pumpkin stem.

Trim any excess from the balloon tail once the tape is in place.

Tie one or two pieces of ribbon around the base of the stem and leave the ends sticking out.  I cut a thin piece of ribbon down the middle to make it even thinner and let it fray to create a shabby appearance.

If desired, use a cutting machine {affiliate link} to cut jack o’lantern faces from black vinyl and apply them to the front side of the small balloons.  These little straw toppers look super cute with smiling faces but they’re also really cute just left as plain pumpkins.

These are so cute! I’ve made a few Halloween straw toppers before, but I never would have imagined balloons. I hope you will share them with us at The Crafty Corner link party this week.
