It’s graduation season and since I have a senior this year we’re attending a lot of graduation parties. Gift cards are always a great choice for a college graduate and this graduation cap gift card holder is a great way to give a gift card! And the best part? It takes just a few minutes to make one.
To make a graduation cap gift card holder, you’ll need black cardstock, a glue gun, and gold yarn.
You can get these supplies delivered straight to your doorstep by clicking the photos below {affiliate links}.
Cut the black cardstock into three pieces: one square that measures three or four inches across, a rectangular piece the same width as the square with a depth that will hide the gift card, and a small tab about one inch by half an inch.
Glue the rectangular piece onto the bottom of the square piece, gluing only the side and bottom edges to create a pocket.
Create the tassel next. Wrap the gold yarn around your fingers a number of times …
… then cut the bottom and tie a small piece of yarn around the top of the tassel.
Use a dab of hot glue to attach the small tab to the top of the gift card and another dab of hot glue to attach the top of the tassel. Lay it at an angle so that it looks like a tassel hanging on top of a graduation cap.
Slide the gift card into the pocket of the gift card holder and you have a fun, themed graduation gift that any graduate will love.
