I’ve been in beverage mode lately, creating a bunch of drink recipes and cocktails. I think it’s an indication that I’m really ready for summer and I’m craving some time with friends. Can anyone relate? Winter has run its course around here. This latest recipe for a frozen bloody mary or a bloody mary slushie would be fun for brunch {think Mother’s Day!}, a summer party, or even a quiet happy hour at home. It’s equally good with or without the alcohol so it’s the perfect summer drink for anyone. Ready to try one?
To make a frozen bloody mary, you’ll need tomato juice, worcestershire sauce, horseradish, and crushed ice. Vodka is optional and so is celery {for a garnish} and seasoned salt for the rim of the glass.
{Ingredient measurements and full instructions can be found in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.}
To create a fun seasoned rim for the bloody mary glass, pour seasoned salt into a small dish. Wet the rim of the glass with a damp paper towel and place the glass into the salt until it’s well coated.
Add the tomato juice, horseradish, and worcestershire sauce into the blender and stir to combine.
Add the vodka, if desired, and then add crushed ice to reach the desired slushiness.
Pour the frozen bloody mary into a glass or mason jar and add garnishes as desired. A stalk of celery adds some fun color and a little snack on the side {wink}. And a colorful paper straw is always a must.
As with any bloody mary, you can add other stir-ins and garnishes. It would even be really fun to set up a whole bloody mary bar and just keep the blender running to mix up drinks as needed.
