Donut Bobbing Party Game

One of my favorite party activities for all ages is the donut bobbing party game!  Little kids love it, tweens think it’s hilarious, and teens love to show they can conquer it!  It takes little preparation, has a relatively low cost, and you can customize it for any party … which makes it a total win in the party game department!

I’ve shared donut bobbing in a few past party posts but decided it was definitely worth a post of its own since I know people are always looking for simple party games.

To set up donut bobbing, you’ll need at least one donut per person {but more is better} and ribbon or string to tie the donuts.  {Don’t use string that’s too thin or the string can pull right through the donuts.}  To customize this party game idea for different holidays, buy donuts and ribbon in holiday colors {red and green for Christmas, black and orange for Halloween, or pink and red for Valentine’s Day} or match a party color or theme.

Tie one end of the string to the donuts and tie another end to a tree branch or a rod or something that can hold the donuts above the ground.  In a pinch, you can even tape or tack them to the ceiling.

The donuts should hang right about mouth level or the kids won’t be able to reach them well.  Be sure to hang a few at varying heights to accommodate different heights in kids.

To play the game, have the kids hold their hands behind their backs {using hands is cheating}, say go, and let the kids start bobbing for donuts.

The goal is to eat an entire donut without using any hands.

The first person to eat an entire donut wins!

Bobbing for donuts is the perfect party game for any party, holiday, or event … and it’s sure to bring lots of laughs to the bystanders!
