Does anyone else just love sprinkles?  They just feel so festive and fun!  My friend, Lindi {from Love the Day} recently sent me a package full of goodies to celebrate her printable library launch {check it out for the most amazing printables for every occasion!} and she included a package of colorful sprinkles along with some other party supplies.  I thought it would be fun to turn them into a sprinkles cake topper that can be used to celebrate any occasion, big or small … because sometimes you just need to say yay!

To make a sprinkles cupcake topper, you’ll need a package of colorful sprinkles {or sprinkles in one color if you prefer a monochromatic look}, heavy cardstock or kraft board, wooden skewers, mod podge, a foam brush, and hot glue.

I cut the letters on my Cricut Maker {the font is birthday bash, one of my favorites} but if you don’t have a cutting machine, you can freehand them or print the text on a computer printer and cut them out.  You’ll want to make the letters fairly large {two or three inches high} so they have more impact.

Lay the letters on parchment paper or another disposable surface and use a foam brush to coat them liberally with mod podge.

Cover the letters with sprinkles, making sure you fill in all the little spaces so no bare spots show.

Once the letters are completely dry, hot glue a wooden skewer to the back of each letter …

… and stick them into a cake or cupcakes.

You can obviously make any word you want or even spell out a name on top of a cake.
