It’s almost time to hit the pumpkin patch and take all the fun photos and I wanted to have something cute {and matchy-matchy} for the little girls to wear. I decided textured candy corn shirts would be quick and simple and a great way to use some of the scraps in my fabric stash.
I hit my stash pile for fabric and chose white, yellow, and orange fabric in different prints and textures. I wanted to be sure that the fabrics showed up well on a white shirt and thought texture would be a good way to accomplish that.
I cut strips of fabric in two/three-inch widths and then sewed them together into one long strip.
I cut a candy corn-shaped template from paper and used that as my pattern piece.
Once cut out, I sewed the little appliques onto simple white shirts and left the edges raw. When washed, they’ll get the raggedy edge that I love.
I can’t wait to dress the girls up and take fun photos of them decked out in their textured candy corn shirts!
I can’t wait for the first trip to the Patch!

Very cute!
Those are super cute.
Very cute but I am super shocked you aren’t making Kennedy wear one. I mean Eli has to wear a cow costume. Are you getting soft?
That is super cute. I love the texture! I need to make my daughter one!!
I love that!!!
That is really cute! If I could just get my friend Kami to stop calling them Acorns….
So cute! I especially love the texture of the yellow fabric! I made some similar shirts for my boys this year minus the fun texture:)
Too cute!!!! Love the textures. 🙂 I love candy corn, so why not have some fun with it for shirts for the kids. Great job! I’m visiting from the CSI Project. Hope you’ll stop by my blog to say hi. 🙂
