Candy Corn Treat Cones

With Halloween on the horizon, I’ve been thinking about fun ideas for parties or class treats.  These candy corn treat cones, while far from perfect {does anyone else find it tough to add a smooth candy coating to something?}, are a simple way to add a bit of fun to Halloween!

To make them, you’ll need sugar cones, candy melt, and yellow and orange food coloring.

ingredients for candy corn cones

Melt the candy melt according to package directions and divide it into three batches.  Leave one white, color one yellow, and color the last one orange.

Dip the bottom of each cone into the white candy melt or spread it on with a knife or spreader.  Place the cones into the freezer until the candy melt hardens.

Spread orange candy melt on the middle of each cone, place them back into the freezer until hardened, and add yellow candy melt at the top and let harden a final time.

Fill the cones with a favorite candy, popcorn, or snack mix …

… and serve to the kids.  Whether they look amazing or as imperfect as mine, the kids will think these candy corn treat cones are delightful and they’ll get gobbled up in a flash!
